TITAN OUTDOOR WINS KING COUNTY METRO TRANSIT ADVERTISING CONTRACT - MARKS SECOND CONSECUTIVE MAJOR MARKET TRANSIT AWARD
NEW YORK, N.Y. (11/17/04) -- Titan Outdoor LLC, a leading provider of outdoor and transit advertising, was awarded the exclusive right to develop and maintain all exterior advertising space for King County Metro Transit through 2009. One of the largest, most environmentally conscious public transportation systems in the nation, Metro Transit covers a service area of 2,134 square miles and serves Greater Seattle's annual ridership of 95 million with a fleet of 1,307 vehicles including standard and articulated coaches, dual powered buses, hybrid diesel electric buses, and trolleys comprising a total inventory of 4,359 exterior and 36,420 ad display spaces. Titan Outdoor is taking over this contract on January 1, 2005 from the incumbent, Viacom Outdoor.
This award further bolsters Titan Outdoor's reputation as a company rapidly rising to prominence in the fields of transit and traditional out-of-home advertising. Having assumed the New Jersey Transit contract in May of 2004, this award marks Titan's second consecutive major-market transit advertising contract win this year. Chairman William M. Apfelbaum and Chief Executive Officer Donald R. Allman both came from Transportation Displays Incorporated (TDI), where they developed and managed the top transit advertising business in the world, representing King County Metro Transit, as well as over 100 other Transit Authorities in the United States and Europe prior to starting Titan Outdoor.
